About the Author

Vijaya Yellamraju, LEED AP (Austin, TX), is Principal, Green Potential—a green building and LEED consulting firm based in Austin, Texas—where she is responsible for managing the technical and operational aspects of the business, providing direction to project teams for successful integration of green principles into the design process. Her special expertise is in managing LEED for multifamily projects. She is experienced with the design issues, limitations and green strategies related to multifamily projects. Most recently, Vijaya managed five large (over 500,000sf each) LEED multifamily projects in Texas and California with budgets ranging from $30M to $60M.She is a trained architect, with an M.S. in Architecture, specializing in Energy and Sustainable Design. She has over eight years’ experience in the architecture and construction industry and has managed several projects in Illinois, Texas, California and India. Her previous employers include firms such as Green Living, LLC, Worn Jerabek Architects and Parsons 3D/I.
