About the Authors

Vic Nanda (Newton, PA) is a Process Improvement Manager, Broadband Mobility Solutions IT, with Motorola. He has over 13 years experience in the software and IT industry, including software development, system testing, and software quality assurance. Vic has extensive experience with Digital Six Sigma (DSS), SEI Capability Maturity Model (CMMi), IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), TL9000, and ISO9000. Vic is the author of the books Quality Management System Handbook for Product Development Companies (CRC Press), and ISO 9001 – Achieving Compliance and Continuous Improvement in Software Development Companies (ASQ Quality Press).

Joseph has authored the text entitled, Signal Processing for Wireless Communications, published by McGraw Hill. About the Author

Wolfgang F.E. Preiser (Scottsdale, Arizona) is Emeritus Professor of Architecture, University of Cincinnati. As a researcher and an international building consultant, he has worked on topics ranging from universal design to facility programming, building performance assessments, health care facilities, and intercultural design in general. He is widely published—with 16 books and over 100 chapters, articles, and conference papers to hiscredit—and is the recipient of the Progressive Architecture Applied Research Award and Citation and the EDRA Career and Lifetime Achievement awards.

Korydon H. Smith (Fayetteville, Arkansas) is Associate Professor in the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas. Professor Smith teaches courses in architectural design and theory, and has received numerous teaching awards. His scholarship focuses on the physical and political roles of design in society, resulting in a wide variety of publications and design works. In addition, Smith is actively involved in continuing education, as well as the transformation of housing policy and design practices throughout the U.S.

About the Author

Robert W. Day (San Diego, CA) is a leading forensic engineer and the chief engineer at American Geotechnical in San Diego, California. The author of over 200 published technical papers, he serves on advisory committees for several professional associations, including ASCE, ASTM, and NCEES. Mr. Day holds both bachelors and masters degrees in structural engineering from Villanova University and a master’s in civil engineering and a civil engineer degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the author of five McGraw-Hill books on geotechnical engineering and a contributor to numerous handbooks on the subject.
