Review

1. SciTech Book News, April 2011 issue

Femtocells are low-power cellular access points that operate in licensed spectrum to connect standard mobile devices to a mobile operator’s network using either DSL, cable, or fiber broadband connections, explain Boccuzzi and Ruggiero. Specialists in cellular phones who have long worked with major US telephone companies, they offer a textbook for a graduate-level engineering course in femtocells, and a reference for engineers and scientists designing them. Their topics include femtocell architectures, media protocols over IP, femtocell security solutions, and quality of service. (Annotation ©2011 Book News Inc. Portland, OR)
